Sweet potatoes-VIDEO

Sweet potatoes are YUMMY!!!

Here is a happy boy after discovering how tasty sweet potatoes are! I think he would have eaten a whole bowl if we let him.

"Do I have anything on my face?"

After the first bite, he was very interested in the sweet potatoes. He would lean forward to get to the spoon.

"Wait Momma, I'm confused, who's feeding me now?"

"Oh, it's Daddy!"

Sleepy baby and a crazy dad

This is a long and somewhat boring video, but you can hear Brayden talk and see what a tired baby looks like. You can also see how silly Jeff is (and it isn't just with Brayden). Happy viewing!

Food- Take 2

Take 2- We decided to try cereal earlier tonight and during his regular feeding. Jeff gave him half of his bottle and then we sat him in his chair for some cereal. He took the spoon well but seemed a bit confused as to what to do when the food was in his mouth. He swallowed fine, but seemed confused while doing it. He ate about 5 spoons worth (which is maybe a teaspoon or two total).

First tastes of cereal

We tried rice cereal last night with Brayden. We think we waited too late in the evening to try it. He was tired and hungry and was upset that he couldn't get enough milk. He tasted it on the spoon, but wanted more. He didn't reject the food, but he just wasn't in the mood to try something new.

Growing like a weed!!!

Brayden had his 4 month doctor's appointment today. He continues to grow like a weed. I'm not sure if I'm buying formula or Miracle Grow. ;-) He is now topping the charts at 16 lbs 13 oz (87%) and 27 inches tall (98%)! We are amazed, only 2% of babies his age are taller than him. WOW! We're thinking we might have a future Portland Trail Blazer on our hands. He is now only 1 inch shy of needing a new car seat. The salesman said we wouldn't need one until he is about 8-12 months, but I guess we need to get one now.
We also were told by his doctor to start him on rice cereal. We will be trying that tonight and if he takes it, you can expect a video to follow. The doctor said he looks ready but if he rejects it we can wait a few more weeks.
What happened to our little baby? Stay tuned for pictures from Brayden's first experience with cereal....

High Chair and Favorite Toy

Tonight Brayden joined Jeff and I at the table for dinner. He tried out his high chair for the first time. He played nicely while we ate dinner. We gave him 2 toys and his paci and he only wanted to play with his new favorite toy. His pal Karen got him this new toy and he LOVES it. We don't know what it is called, but we call it his "thing-a-majig". He will pick it up, suck on it, switch hands and stare at it. It is amazing! Thanks Karen!!!

Brayden was trying to get paci and thing-a-majig in his mouth at the same time. He was briefly successful! ;-)

Brayden sat quietly all through dinner playing with his toy. He seemed to like his high chair too. We look forward to many more family dinners around the table!

Doorway jumper VIDEO

Here is our video of Brayden enjoying his doorway jumper. I know it is long (2 minutes or so) but we think it is super cute. ;-)

Our Jolly Jumper!

Brayden was a very happy boy in his doorway jumper. He loved bouncing, spinning and moving from side to side.

Doorway jumper

We had got Brayden a doorway jumper because he LOVES being upright. We weren't sure if he would be able to use it yet, so we thought we would test it out. With a small blanket stuffed behind him, it was perfect.

"Momma, this is so fun, I don't even need my paci!"

"I will just set paci right here."

"Look momma, I can turn!"

"See, I can jump!"

Happy Valentine's Day!

Brayden's first Valentine's Day was a hit with a fondue dinner (and Brayden had a bottle!)

Brayden was helping Jeff vacuum and get ready for company. He LOVED vacuuming!

Elaine and Henry enjoying fondue. She doesn't normally smile like that but her fondue was milliseconds away from falling off her fork! Ah, the fun of fondue!

Henry and Brayden both needed bibs that night.

This was the face Brayden kept making while Elaine freaked out on the Wii! He didn't know what the crazy lady was doing. ;-)

Computer/Bottle/Daddy

"What are you doing Momma? I'm trying to get some work done here!"

"I'm trying to teach my caterpillar how to blog! He's a little slow."

Last night Brayden held his bottle for the first time. He kept pushing it down though so I had to help hold it up. So cute!

Jeff loves to chat with Brayden on the changing table. Last night he got down close to him and all Brayden wanted to do was check out Daddy's scratchy face.

I caught my two favorite baldies snuggling. I am hoping that one of them starts growing some hair soon. ;-)

Grandma Gloria Day

Brayden enjoys his Grandma Gloria days each week while Momma is at work. Here are some pictures from her first two weeks. Brayden seems to be enjoying himself! (Thanks for sending the pics Grandma!)
