Tummy time video

This is a video Jeff shot of Brayden having tummy time. I think Jeff is liking his Thursday Daddy Day!

Momma's back at work.

Today was my first day back at work. Jeff was home with Brayden and he sent me this picture of Brayden playing with him this morning. Ah, I miss my mornings with my baby. Who would ever want to leave this face?!

3 month pictures

"What? It's my birthday??? Cool!!!"

"No more tickling momma!"

"I'm gonna get ya!"

"Ok, time to be serious, after all I am 3 months old!"

"What do you think of my track pants momma? Do I look like an old man?"

Playtime with Daddy

Daddy hadn't had a chance to see Brayden play his piano yet. Brayden put on a great show for him.

Brayden has almost outgrown his bassinet. What a big boy!

3 months old!!!!

Today is Brayden's 3 month birthday. Time has really been flying by. I will be returning to work Monday *tears* so I am really trying to enjoy every moment with Brayden. I thought I would take this opportunity to share with you my top 10 favorite things about my son. (Feel free to skip this post if you only come for the pictures, it might be long and sappy.)

1. Mornings- He is a morning boy (so not like his momma). He is very happy and loves to smile and talk. It makes me enjoy getting up in the mornings.

2. His smile- Now that his smiles are really smiles and not just gas related, it is so precious to watch him react to me and smile. Brayden's smile can make any bad day good and he always seems to know when I need one.

3. Cooing- I LOVE listening to Brayden talk (coo). His current words are "goo" "ah" "oh" and some gurgles and squeals. He is now starting to repeat what I say if I use those words. We have great conversations together, especially in the mornings. I hope he always enjoys talking to his momma!

4. I love watching Brayden watch things in his environment and learn. He seems to be learning new things all the time. I love watching his eyes and imagining what he must be thinking. I can almost see the light bulbs going off.

5. Reading-One of my favorite daily activities is reading with Brayden. He loves his books. Right now he enjoys any books with real photographs. He has been looking at the pictures for a month or so now, but just recently he has started cooing while I read. I like to think he is trying to read with me. I will miss our morning story time so much when I go back to work.

6. Diaper changing- No, I am not crazy. Brayden LOVES his changing table. He gets super chatty and gives his best smiles during his changes. We sing songs and play peek-a-boo. I never thought I would enjoy his changes, but it is so precious watching him enjoy life.

7. Feedings- I love our bonding time together during feedings. I talk to Brayden while he is drinking his bottle and I love the way he looks at me like he loves to listen.

8. Naps- I have always loved napping, but now I love napping with Brayden in the recliner. He likes holding onto my hand and snuggling into me. I really enjoy watching him sleep! He is growing up so fast and I know I will miss these naps.

9. Play- I love watching Brayden play. He doesn't play with many toys yet, but he loves his activity gym. He can sit under that for hours (don't worry I don't let him sit there for hours). He talks, squeals and smiles like he is having a conversation with the toys hanging above him.

10. Milestones- I have been lucky enough to have 14 weeks at home with Brayden. He has already hit many milestones and I have been privileged enough to witness them all (and document most of them here for you). His first smile, first coo, first time he grabbed something, first time rolling over, etc. I could have never imagined being so proud of something so little, but every milestone seems so huge. The thought of possibly missing these things makes me sad.

Thank you for letting me share my favorite things. I am feeling a little sad about going back to work and I wanted to document all of the things I have enjoyed about my time at home with Brayden.

Piano Man

I know this is sideways, but I can't figure out how to turn it. I think you can still get the idea.

"Sing us a song, you're the piano man, sing us a song tonight, cause we're all in the mood for a melody and you've got us feeling alright."

My little Motzart!

"Mommy, I'm bored, can I have my piano please?"

"Check out this song I wrote."

"I wrote this one for you Mommy."

"This one's for Daddy, think he'll like it?"

"See mom, you push the keys and make music, it's easy!"

I have a great video of Brayden playing his tunes. When Jeff gets home and shows me how to post video, I will get it up. It is so cute!!!!

Bumbo chair

Getting used to his new Bumbo chair. What a big boy, sitting up all by himself.

*As my mom pointed out, it looks like he is sad and sitting in the "naughty chair", but I assure you, he actually liked it, my camera just didn't get the smiles this time.

"Look at me guys, I can sit up!"

He was a bit wobbly at first but he got the hang of it quickly.

Taking a break from the bumbo with Auntie Manda.

Big boy clothes

Daddy holding Brayden in his first pair of jeans. This was also his first time wearing shoes. His Robeez were so cute on him.

"That's how I roll!"

Too cool!

Brayden and I have been walking this week since it has been so nice. I thought Brayden should try out my sunglasses. He didn't want to wear them long, but here was our interaction:

"Mom, come on, I am way too cool for your shades!"

"Ok, I'll give you something for your blog, how's this?"

Starting the use the jumper!!!!

Now that Brayden can hold his head up (most of the time) I decided to try out his jumper. This was a gift from his Great Aunt Diane and Great Uncle Joe. He fits in it as long as I stick some towels in the back to help prop him up. He gave me the biggest smile when I first put him in and he bounced a little. He really liked the bouncing motion and the mirror. Thanks Aunt Diane and Uncle Joe!!!

"Hmm, I wonder how these work."

"Oh, I see, I pull the rings."

I had to put a folded towel under his feet so he could touch the ground and bounce. He loves the bouncing.

Once he figured out how to grab the rings, he loved them and didn't let go.

Random

Brayden has been showing interest in putting things in his mouth so I gave him one of his cold teethers. He seemed to like it.

Jeff and Brayden have great conversations. Brayden gets a bit camera shy though so here is Jeff trying to get Brayden to talk into the camera.

Since Brayden likes to be held upright now, he really enjoys facing out in his bjorn. This is how I manage to get things done during the day.

He doesn't like to hold still for long though. Keep moving momma!!!

Tummy time on boppy

"Mommy, do you think I'm cute?"

"What are you doing mom, I'm trying to focus!"

"Now you've got me all distracted!"

"Alright, back to studying!"

"See how focused I can be?"

*No he isn't really "studying" he was fascinated with his mirror, but he looks so focused! ;-)

Mmm, yummy fingers

In the past week or two Brayden has really found his fingers. He loves to try to suck/eat/lick them. It is so cute when he puts both hands together and tries to fit it all in his mouth!

It is much easier to lick just one finger!

He loves those knuckles.

"I just can't fit this in my mouth!"

"What? I didn't do it! I wasn't chewing on anything!"

Brayden just hanging out

Brayden enjoys hanging out in his boppy next to mommy on the couch.
